At the 3D Master there was a lot of demo flight from different vendors, but one of the most chocking this year was the two Three Dee, Henseleit Helicopters doing a mid air collision, as i wrote in my previous post one was hovering or flying slow and the other was flying full speed into the other helicopter. Resulting in a ground impact 200 meters down the flight line and it was cached by the safety net.
You can see my video here:
You can’t see the grund crash on my video but on this video from Runryder you can see how the helicopter is caught by the net. At the end of the video
Finally got one of my videos don, this is one of the videos you are going to see from RCHeli.dk with a little twist, it is not the sponsored and cool edited video, but this will give you an impression of what is also going on at an event like 3D Masters.
Krunder from Krunder Aerospace Denmark had a change to show the crowed his self designed 50/50 helicopter, a helicopter with two 50 engines.
On this video you can see Sebastian Duus smacking it around. And you can see some of the issues you have with a twin engined helicopter. :) Read more about the 50/50 here
Here is an example of a victory flight from a pilot i think we can expect more from in the future, this is in my opinion the best victory flight at the 3D masters 2010, first Curtis Youngblood came out his helicopter died after a few minutes attempting to fly around a tree and Nick Smackwell last 30 sec. then he crashed.
But Gael Laminard winner of the expert class, his victory flight was cool he did all the right things without a crash. Check it out
Okay the final results after a long wait in the rain, we finally got to the results, I will let the pictures speak for them self. But Nick was the overall winner
Right now the competition has stopped, because of the rain, we are waiting for the results and the victory flights, and the victory flight is the only thing keeping me.
