Well now Helibatic 2 2009 is over and I ended last position AGAIN, it is not a good year for me :) What can I say if you don’t practice you don’t win. That’s a lesson to you all.
I was struck by a little bad luck, when I was in my free style flight I was trying to make a rainbow up against wind, and the engine lost power. It was in the last part of my flight and I end with a nice autorotation right in the circle. There was a lot of comment asking me if I didn’t have a governor installed, but the answer is yes I have a governor installed, but there was a small problem with the governor, see picture.
The sensor was broken off !!
I have posted some pictures, most of them are from my friend Kurt, and he is still learning about his fancy camera that is why some of the pictures are dark :)
Now the Fiat 127 is fixed. I got a new gear box and clutch in the car and the engine is running, well it’s running. I have to change the ignition system. And then I can drive it in rain too, not like now where I lose some of the cylinders when driving in rain.
As you can see on the pictures I was out flying yes today, I still have some issues with setting the mix on the engine after I have installed a governor. And when I was out flying last time I had some issues with getting the mix right, but I found that I had mixed up the high and the middle needle when I was trying to adjust the engine, that’s way I could not get the engine to run clean.
Yestoday I almost got the engine tuned right but not quit, when I was switching from idl1 to idl2 and gave it full throttle the engine died on me. About 7 meters over the ground right in the bad height for an autorotation. But finally all the years of practices paid off. I managed to auto it down with only a broken land skid not the best landing but hay it’s a cheap repair.
SiteNote : I have removed some of my Google adds well to be honest they don’t pay enough, compared to the space and load time they take on the page. For some of you that maybe interested in Adsence from Google here is some data from my site. I have average 120 unique visitors on my site a day, I have a CTR at about 5,5% and the pay is about 120$ every 4 month, not really something that can motivate me. But now you can chose if it’s something you want to use.

My big bird crashed on my, ”oh my heli”.
The annoying thing about this is that it was not my fault, or in a way it was, I was doing a inverted hover about 20 meter off the ground, and then the tail died, it just started spinning like hell I tried to auto it down but with no luck, so you see it was my fault, because I can’t do a inverted piro autorotation, STUPID ME. :(
I have been reading a bit on Runryder.com and it seem like the 9254 servo has some issues, I haven’t got time to check the servo yet, but if I find that the servo is the reason, FUTABA IS OUT.
And way is futaba out, well one think is a crash, and another is a crash because of mechanical failure, but even another thinks is a crash because of a mechanical failure right beside a lake in some mood. There is mood all over my bird, it is going to take a lot of time cleaning and assembling the heli again and that’s the worst par, yes it is going to cost some money too, but compared to the time I have to spend cleaning that heli it nothing, BAD futaba.
